Appellant Stanley Sheridan sued his wife Russella for divorce on the grounds of incompatibility of temperament. Appellee Russella Sheridan counterclaimed for divorce also asserting the existence of an incompatibility of temperament. Both parties sought custody of the three young children of the marriage. Later the parties entered into a stipulation under the terms of which appellees pleadings were amended to include allegations that she was then "pregnant with another child" by appellant. It was further stipulated that appellant disputed the paternity of the as yet unborn child.
